Troubleshooting
| General Problems | |
| Problem | Possible Solutions |
| Marker will not fire. | Tank pressure may be too low. Refill tank.
Battery may not have a sufficient charge. Change battery. Marker is not turned on. Turn on marker. Trigger may be out of adjustment. Check that the trigger contacts and releases the micro-switch. Adjust trigger. Paintball shell may be jamming bolt forward. Clean breech area. Low pressure tubing is pinched inside the trigger frame. Disassemble and re-route tubing. Foreign matter (most likely a piece of the ram bumper) is lodged in the solenoid valve. Disassemble and clean solenoid. Valve dwell is set too low. Increase dwell. |
| When marker is turned on, bolt goes forward and marker fires. | Low battery. Change battery.
Circuit board retaining screw is shorting out board. Remove install small o-ring and retighten. |
| Chopping paint in breech. | Loader batteries may be weak. Change batteries.
Loader too slow for rate of fire. Upgrade loader. Tank pressure is too low. Refill tank. Ball detents are not working. Replace detents. Rate of fire is set too high. Reduce setting. |
| Breaking paint in barrel. | Paintballs too small for barrel. Change barrel.
Ball detents are not working. Replace detents. Paintballs are too fragile/swollen. Replace paintballs. |
| Excessive noise/gas consumption | Exhaust valve is worn. Replace valve.
Paintballs too small for barrel. Change barrel. |
| LCD screen displays nothing or unreadable characters. | LCD ribbon cable has become damaged or disconnected. Reconnect and/or replace LCD screen. |
| Marker fires first shot extremely slow. | Poppet valve o-ring is dry. Lube o-ring. |
| Regulators, inline or LPR, pressure will not adjust. | Foreign material stuck in pin valve. Remove debris.
Pin valve is bent. Replace pin valve. |
| Velocity Problems | |
| Problem | Possible Solutions |
| Velocity is too high. | Torpedo inline regulator pressure is too high. Decrease pressure.
Valve spring is too weak. Replace spring. |
| Velocity is too low. | Tank pressure is too low. Refill tank.
Torpedo inline regulator pressure is too low. Increase pressure. Valve spring is too strong. Replace spring. Paintballs too small for barrel bore size. Change barrel. |
| Velocity is inconsistent. | Poor quality paintballs. Upgrade to better quality.
Check barrel/paint match. Change barrel. Barrel may be dirty. Clean barrel. Marker internals dirty. Clean marker. Tank pressure may be getting low. Refill tank. Non-compatible aftermarket parts installed. Install suitable parts. Bolt o-rings (if installed) may be worn. Replace o-rings. Torpedo inline regulator piston is dry. Lube o-rings. Rear (larger) ram o-ring is worn. Replace o-ring. |
| Leaks | |
| Problem | Possible Solutions |
| Air is leaking down barrel. | Tank pressure too low to seat valve. Refill tank.
Cup seal is damaged and leaking. Replace cup seal.
If poppet valve or cup seal was replaced, fire marker several times to seat valve to housing. Poppet valve stem is bent. Replace poppet valve. Ram sleeve o-rings are leaking. Replace o-rings. Ram sleeve screw has loosened and ram sleeve has slid back. Re-seat sleeve and tighten set screw. Ram o-rings are leaking. Replace o-rings. Valve spring is too weak. Replace spring. |
| Leaking between tank pin valve and marker air source adapter (ASA) | Bad tank pin valve o-ring. Replace o-ring. |
| Leaking between tank bottle neck and tank pin valve. | Loose pin valve.WARNING! Do not try to remove tank from marker. Release all air pressure from tank. If marker has an on/off assembly, turn off and disconnect air line. Turn on/off back on to release tank pressure. Once all pressure is removed from tank, unthread tank from marker and take to a certified airsmith for repair. DO NOT TRY TO REPAIR YOURSELF! |
| Air leaking from vertical adapter. | Replace o-rings. |
| Air leaking from low pressure chamber. | Replace o-rings. |
| Air leaking from ram cap. | Replace o-ring. |
| Air leaking from slot where bolt pin rides. | Replace ram o-rings. |
| Air leaking from air fittings. | Tighten and/or add teflon tape to fittings. |
| When tank pressure was applied to the marker, a loud pop was heard and air now leaks out of the trigger frame. | Tank input pressure should never exceed 500 psi. Most preset tanks produce 850 psi and will over pressurize the regulators causing the low pressure tubing to be stretched or blown off the high flow barbs. Re-attach or replace tubing and ensure a low pressure tank is used on the marker. |
| Marker leaks from inside trigger frame and low pressure tubing is fine. | Solenoid valve is over pressurized and leaking. Decrease air pressure.
Lightweight oil has been used in the marker and has deteriorated the internal solenoid seals. Replace or rebuild solenoid valve. High flow barbs are loose or cracked. Ensure fiber washer is present under barb. Tighten barbs or replace. |
