Cocker® History
|
The Autococker® was introduced in 1989. It was the work of Bud Orr, a former Navy contractor with experience in high pressure pneumatics, who added pneumatics to a previous invention, the Bud Orr Sniper pump marker. The first Autocockers® were pretty crude and had their share of problems. It was these first Autocockers® that gave them a bad rap of being one of the hardest markers to maintain. But with years of hard work and innovation, Bud Orr developed his Autococker® into one of the most popular tournament markers ever.
The Autococker® received its first national publicity when they were used by Bob Long's original Ironmen professional paintball team. And have since been used by many of the top professional teams. Few markers have survived and evolved like the Autococker®.
Today, the Autococker® is probably the most customized marker around. Many companies such as Dye Precision, ANS Xtreme, Shocktech, & KAPP have developed a customized Autococker®. Not to mention many other companies that have released Autococker® clones. |
